Ayyy we finally made it! I dunno about you three, but I have a feeling that my nervousness about tonight might might be more than yours. I dunno why, either. Steve, you're irrelevant. Stop rambling.

icon_ha Anyways!

So I think it’s fair to say that none of the three of you played the sexiest of games. A bit of lurking, a bit of just flat out surviving. In fact, in that Public Tribal where Nick went out, where it was really crunch time for some people, I think the most notable post between the three of you was a triumphant:
By LJ - Thu May 11, 2017 10:29:25 pm
what we do
By Mr. LJ over there.

But hey, that’s strategic and it obviously worked for each of you. I'm probably gonna have less of a problem with that than a lot of my fellow jury members, so bravo for that. icon_smile I think my main concern for each of you was as follows, and don't feel like you need to address them, really, my question's coming:

1)LJ- It's obvious that anyone needs to be lucky to make it where you have. But I still struggle to get past your sticking around not being dumb luck. You seemed to be always the #2 choice of that original majority alliance to vote out. So I dunno if you somehow got that to happen, yourself, or it was just dumb luck that your name was never the final decision.

2)Aubs- Simply enough, I don't know if you were AWARE enough about the game around you. You're super strategic, I can't deny that. But those votes of yours were in the minority or just ill-justified a few too many times, if you ask me.

3)Tai- You were forced to come into the merge guns a' blazin' because of those early controversies. And that's fine. But directly after, and you told me this yourself, you needed to shut up. I DO think that was smart, but I'm concerned that you spent too much of this game in silence to give yourself a legitimate enough shot.

Actually for you Tai (I think I told most of you I'm like, super into sports) I'd compare you (For LJ <3) to the Buffalo Bills. You start out with a bang every year, then fizzle out. The only difference is that you, Tai, don't have a former head coach whose desk donned a picture of a foot fetish model.

(and yes, I was planning to compare you all to pro sports franchises, but LJ was gonna be the Detroit Red Wings and that's just an unfair disadvantage)

Anyways! Phew I'm sweating by now! Now that we've gone through a mind-map of every thought Steve has ever had, my question. It's related to my concern about Aubry, in I was troubled, to an extent, in each of your levels of awareness in the game. To me, knowing what's going on with others, and the flow of the game as a whole is one key characteristic of most deserving winners. That being said:

I'd like each of you to just state the best and worst part of each of the other 2 finalists' games, or their journey as a whole

Thanks for sticking with that, best of luck to each of you! icon_laughing icon_ha icon_razz

#6517 Thanks for the shoutout, brother. I don’t mince words WHEN WE’RE ON THE CLOCK at public TC.

I think once it became clear that we were in a never-ending minority that my best path to the end was to be patient, target lesser threats than myself, and wait for the cracks to develop. Sure some of it was luck. You guys write my name down and it’s game over, but I always was aware of that fact and loved that Lindsey was more threatening and Tai had his battles with you all.

BEST AND WORST

Tai – I think Tai was awesome at just oozing like, trustworthiness and integrity. I never doubted him for a second. Obviously some of you won’t agree with that but hey he never proved ME wrong.

Worst? I think he bungled the last few rounds. He let me and Natalie dry gulch him when we voted you out. He burned Aubry and was on the outside for no real reason, and I think he should have forced a tie with Natalie at 5 and voted for me. Our games are too closely tied together whereas against Natalie and Aubry he could have had a pretty unique story.

Aubry – Aubry’s best is how likeable she is. I knew she was a huge threat to me in the long run but didn’t WANT to vote her out. Who knows where we’re at right now if I vote her out at 5.

Worst? Kind of the opposite of Tai, as much as I liked her on a personal level I never trusted her. Maybe some of you felt the same way? I don’t know.

Thanks again Steve!

Go Bills!

#6537 Doesn't answer your question, but, to pull from "Waitress," I was aware enough. Did I know who the majority's target was going to be every time? Definitely not. Did I know Tai/LJ/Nat were voting for Andrea? No. But I was aware enough to know things necessary to my and my groups (exception of Julia vote) survival. I picked up on clues indicating things like I didn't need to play my idol on myself because I was rarely a target, you didn't really feel that great about working with me for a long time, I knew Nick was too close to Spencer for my comfort, etc etc.

ALRIGHT OOPS SORRY OK

LJ: The best part of his game was his attitude. I would do something contrary to our interests as a pair, like blindside Lindsey or refuse to vote with Trish, and he ALWAYS reacted with "it's fine, it's a game. So how are you?" In addition to just being amazing, this made me feel completely at ease with him, which is a really dangerous trait.

The worst is that he didn't really try to make a move of his own. I love him to pieces, but this is something both myself and Tai can claim - we tried to turn the tides in different ways, but I never saw much tide turning in his strategy.

Tai: The best part of his game, and this is something I really respect, is that Tai never gave up. When it seemed like all hope was lost, he kept prying, kept scheming. It was very sketchy and led to a lot of flack, but he never stopped playing this game.

Conversely, the worst part is that not many of his plans worked. This happened for different reasons, but sometimes that was because his read on people (like myself at the Julia boot) was incorrect. Like you said, a lack of awareness, which is admittedly extremely hard to have when you can't see people going off for firewood together!

#6541 I always planned to vote Nick out after Morgan, heck he was supposed to go before Morgan but he won immunity. I thought everyone was planning to vote him down for that vote? It just happened to be a public vote, but I always knew what I was going to do at that point.

For me, I needed to be silent because so many people went home if they tried to stir the pot, I was always a target in this game, any little thing could have sent me home. But I was always open when I knew I could be. Like everyone knew me a "backstabber" but yet still trusted me, so I don't think I was that silent. LOL, I also don't know football either, so hopefully for me though in this alternative reality the Bills will be winning the Super Bowl.

LJ's best part of his game is his social game by far, he is a likable person, he is witty and charismatic with all those zingers. The worst part of his game is his strategic game, he had any real moves to call his own.

Aubry's best part of her game is her social game too. I would compare her to Cirie. She could make a move that would hurt someone, but she would be able to fix it and make it all better right after, very good at damage control. The worst part of her game is that wasn't aware strategically, and I don't see many of her moves that really influenced this game besides her taking out Lindsey.
